It launched in a borderline unplayable state for most consumers and the subsequent damage control was so bad that it turned away pretty much everyone else.

There's also nothing interesting, unique or iconic about the game. Other than Keanu's character, nothing about the game, story or setting stick out. CDPR also fucked up by spending an excessive amount of time building a dystopian future setting where almost all of the depicted technology was outdated by late-00's standards.

It's sad it was such a shit show as, imo, it has a pretty decent story and great cast. Underneath the mountains of bugs and issues is a good game that could've been something decent if they were allowed to actually work on it before the money hungry heads had to feed.

CDPR always sucked. Their magnum opus is GOG and The Witcher 3 was a fluke.

There was a combative mindset somewhere & also the devs couldnt afford another pushback. If you just want a fancy, hi-rez rpg with comfy contemporary familiarity, theyre a dime a dozen.

Cyberpunk essentially failed to satisfy the trick on a personal level for its fanbase and people got that experience from elsewhere. Bottom line. Its all fun & games repping your favorite game & such until you bring home the follow-up & she destroys your house.

It did have some impact. It showed us that if you make refunds Sony's problem, they will fuck you up.

It's really boring. The bugs are unfortunately the vest part and without them the game is soulless.

As much as I loved Witcher 2 & 3, when I heard about all the fancy character customization for a game that takes place entirely in 1st person, I realized they were being fucking idiots.

I remember saying here "why is CDPR so good? They only made one good game" and being told to shut up and I don't know anything and Cyberpunk will be another masterpiece

lol

It lacks personality and getting the true or secret ending was probably too involved for some.

A lot of lore and world building was left out and it had a great yet underdeveloped story with not enough silverhand. He should have been in way more.

I'd say it is a great building block to base a future rpg on, or even a reboot that's very similar.

Also: Big Problem: the game disrespects the genre. The whole momentum from Cyberpunk came from it being, well, the Cyberpunk genre instead of High Fantasy Game of Throneslike. The community really wanted to be able to differentiate itself, & kindle this old flame with that style, and not seem so derivative - because there really havent been very many particularly good cyberpunk games (at least not in a good long while for the most part)

as it stands, it is a hard genre to catch. Mostly, you end up with half-naked sci-fi that really barely qualifies as cyberpunk, or they only implemented about half the necessary concepts to really seem like the job got done, or the style is distracting (like they tried to literally animate the concept art and it didnt work), etc..... or you end up with Cyberpunk, which was not the Apocalypse Now Blade Runner we had all been waiting for.

It was just a really forgettable experience. It was like a pop song - entertaining in the moment, then the season's gone and you forget about it.
