something thats overly edgy. Like, not intentionally. It just happens, then I try to come up with something cooler and it just sounds lamer the more I think about it. Shoulda just named him edgy mcedgeface

Depends on how I feel like role playing the character. I almost never name them after myself, because I don't see them as self-inserts. My default four character name is 'Nova', because they're only so many four letter names that sound good.

Haven't played many games where I can name my character.

I named my Fallout 3 character Steve because... I thought it was a very milquetoast name. No offense to anyone named Steve.

Unoffcially, My Saints Row character's named Dick Indears. I was so immature... But it's an immature game!

Anyhow, Randolph for New Vegas. That game's almost a western and Randolph Scott was some western movie hero and Randolph was sort of an unique name. But that was for the crappy PS3 version that I never finished and now I'm playing it on PC. But a male character for the third time would have been old hat.

If I'm playing Fallout or something, I call my characters stuff like Murderfucker the Blood Tanker. If it's something like Skyrim, I call my characters stuff like Carl.
