but, like, haven't there been plenty of other "pc handhelds", released? i wanna say nvidia made one, right? and i know there have been some others? none of them has gotten the attention the steam d*ck has, by a longshot, ok?

I've seen some people express interest in it, but I've also seen a lot of people that think the idea is pointless or just have no faith that Valve will support it in a meaningful way.

Just give us the Orange Box 2 for Pete's sake

Nintendo also has the most successful intellectual properties in history exclusive to their hardware. I'm not sure the interest ever unkindled. 3DS carried them through the Wii U mistake

Somebody else using the TV, playing in a room other than the one where the dock is hooked up, pooping, visiting somebody else's house, using it to pass time during errands or breaks, because you feel like sitting in a different position on the couch, just because you like that experience better than docked play... There are plenty of reasons. Fortunately, the system is versatile enough that everyone can use it according to their personal needs/preferences (although it's a bit bulky to be a proper portable). There really isn't a "wrong" way to play, which is exactly how it was designed.

Ive seen a lot of topics about it. never really looked into them, but Im perfectly fine with my Switch (not even going to get the OLED model)

I enjoyed the switch when it first launched it was certainly revolutionary. Zelda, Splatoon 2, Street fighter 30th anniversary and Luigi Mansion 3 are some of the games I've really enjoyed on this console. With that said time has passed and advancements in technology has been made and I feel we are nearing the end of the console's life span. I look forward to Switch2 next year and if it does not release I may have to go with Steam.
