Last Jedi was rather ok, but overall meaningless since the plot was technically resolved before the movie even started...

Actually, the things I don't like about Last Jedi and Crystal Skull are the same problem... that weird Disney feeling where everything is forced family moments

Shia LaBoufs character kind of sucks in Crystal Skull. Well his portrayal does. I think it could have been done better, but the big twist people threw a fit about was always stupid to me. Not there twist, but people whining about it. The entire series has had supernatural connotations.... so it really wasnt out of place.

yeah, not only was it not a twist, but it follows in line with rest of the series. Aliens were popular supernatural myths during the 50s

last jedi was decent, until you start thinking about it, and then literally every plot point falls apart. also, that casino sequence was legitimately god awful. also, the audience is punished for being intrigued and/or curious about anything from the previous movie, because they just toss it all aside, and fuck you for wanting to find out more, ok?

kingdom of the crystal skull isn't bad at all.... ...until you get to the jungle chase scene. then it becomes a badly made cartoon. after that, the movie just tries to outdo it's awfulness in every scene that comes after it, and it never recovers, ok?

Last Jedi is the greatest Star Wars movie since Empire.

I don't acknowledge Crystal Skull's existence so Indiana Jones is just the three movies (Raiders, Temple and Crusade).

i would have liked the whole deconstruction of a hero shit better if it werent in fucking Star Wars. really out of place imo

When I was a kid, I put my Luke Skywalker X-Wing pilot figure in the glass bowl of a lamp in my house when I was playing, then forgot he was there. Later, when someone turned the lamp on, the heat from the bulb was hot enough to melt the figure into a blob of molten plastic.

I consider that a better ending for the character than the one we actually got.

Honestly, LaBeef is one of the few things in the movie that isn't terrible. I'd rather have more of him and less of everything else than the reverse.

For one thing, he's the only one who seems to actually give enough of a shit about the film to attempt acting rather than just half-assing his lines. And his character - while we can argue about whether or not it should exist in the first place - fits the setting a lot better than a lot of the rest of the muddled narrative. He's also one of the few characters who seems to remain consistent to his own characterization and who has something resembling an arc that isn't mostly shit.

To some degree he's filling the "comic relief" role of Marian/Willie/Indy's dad filled in the previous movies, combined with having to take up a lot of the slack of the action because Harrison Ford is a walking mummy now. That can be jarring, and he's certainly not helped by how dumbed down the entire film feels, but very little of what's wrong with the film is HIS fault.

This is also the correct stance for Star Wars. There are only three movies (Star Wars, Empire, RotJ)

Agreed! I loved both of them. I hope we get another Indiana Jones movie soon, before Ford is too old to do some of his own stunts! (Well, he might be, but youre only as old as you feel.)
