Just found out these were a thing.

Seems like a fun idea, but quality is all over the place. Some celebs really mail it in, lack focus or direction, sound muffled or garbled, or some combination of the aforementioned.

And some of them charge a decent amount. I'd be annoyed if I paid hundreds for some incoherent message, unless it was from someone I'd expect to be incoherent (as a goof)

No, the concept just feels too weird. There are some celebrities I like on cameo who seem to do some pretty decent cameos, but it kinda feels like paying a celebrity for a signature or to have a photo taken with them.

That and I've never been all that big into the idea of meeting celebrities, since it's usually not going to be a meaningful interaction. I think the ones I'd probably be most interested in sitting down with are the creators of canceled shows I'd followed, mostly because I'd enjoy the closure in learning about potential plot threads... although I guess for some shows, they didn't necessarily plan that far in advance or flesh the ideas out that much.

That's exactly how it feels. It's weird.

I'm not against the idea, but it seems like a waste of money to me. That said, video games are a waste of money and I buy a shit load of those so I don't want to be judgmental
