Am I going to die? Why do I do this? It didn't smell, look, or taste bad, but now I'm worried about dying. It was homemade chinese tofu/meat in some kinda oily sauce.

If you haven't had vomiting or diarrhoea by now (which is surprising since it involved sauce) then you're fine. All your endless fancy tea brews will purify your system.

Most foodborne illnesses need to incubate for 3-4 days before symptoms will show up. If he just ate it, unless it was actually bad enough to induce a vomiting reflex (which he would have noticed), there's no reason to expect vomiting/diarrhea to show up yet.

In all likelihood, the worst that'll happen is a few days of vomiting/diarrhea, and even that's far from guaranteed. You don't need to be too scared.

One time when I was checking out a tea shop in San Francisco's Chinatown the two young dudes running it (they were probably just out of high school or still in it; it was their parents shop that they helped out at) were eating some greasy noodles and kept telling me about how people in China stay skinnier despite heavy carb diets because constant tea drinking coats their stomach lining and prevents them from absorbing toxins and unnecessary fat. I'm extremely skeptical of these claims, but if there's any truth in it maybe you'll be fine since you drink a lot of tea.

This morning I finished off the last of a rotisserie chicken that I bought 10 days ago. I didn't realize it was that old until this afternoon while going through receipts. Luckily I nuked the crap out of it before eating it.

Was it in the refrigerator or freezer? Freezer can keep stuff for a long ass time. I ate take-out mexican food that I forgot about in my freezer 3 years after a cruise. The steak tasted terrible...but I didn't die.

For refrigerator...I think the longest I've probably had was maybe 2 weeks. I'm sure you'll be fine.

I'm confused. Did you eat 18 different days of old leftovers or did you eat a leftover from 18 days ago?
