Oh I dunno. In some senses I understand the comparison, but some of the particular comparisons in that article aren't great imo. The criminal justice system disproportionately abuses men (especially native and black men). The disparity in upward economic mobility between black men and white men is larger than the gap between black women and white women. It's not that it's not there, but in general over time black men have had it worse. But it's more nuanced than that; the reason black men have higher median earnings than black women in most metrics is because the datasets exclude people in group settings like prisons. So that implies that black men who manage to avoid involvenent in the criminal justice system do overall out perform black women. It's just that 1 in 3 black men will not avoid the criminal justice system

People definitely lose the plot when theres a need to describe actual oppression hierarchy. Its one thing to say the statistics show X is better off than Y, Y is better off than Z, etc. Its another to constantly bitch and moan about the people higher up. One is about stating actual facts and the other is just creating a target of sorts to appease some kind of inner need to have an actual enemy.

Straight black men certainly come in last place the Victim Olympics of black people, that's about it. We don't have any privileges in society, but I'm sure someone will break their backs to make a fallacious argument about it. Overall, most black people are just crabs in the same bucket. Some of us need further divisions i guess.
