This has potential. Last couple Bond games were kinda mediocre-to-bad. Hopefully this turns out decent. Been digging the Hitman games recently.

They need to make a game where you can customize your Bond in a character creator before you start, pick one of multiple different voice sets, and allow you to pick different dialogue options so you can shape what sort of personality you want Bond to have. And you could even have different romance options, so the player gets to decide which Bond girl you wind up with.



Sort of what Alpha Protocol was going for, only with more actual customization, because Mike Thorton's kind of a knob no matter how you play him.

I'm nostalgic for Pierce Brosnan Bond. That was when I got into the franchise. My parents liked it before and had some VHS tapes of the older ones, but I was too young to care, I guess. I remember seeing GoldenEye in the theatre and getting the N64 game early because some little store here broke street date.

I'd argue that every Bond (even Lazenby) was their own unique version of the character, with slightly different personality quirks and attitude. Part of which is because of the different actors, part of which is because the time period the films are made affects their tone and story, because culture has shifted multiple times over the past 60 years (70 years if you're counting the original Bond from the books, who was different from all the others in his own way as well).

Which is part of why I've always loved the "James Bond is a code-name and each actor is actually playing a different person using that same code-name, not the same man as all the others" idea. Even if it's not true, it kind of makes the films more interesting overall.

I thought Pierce Brosnan was a great Bond, and always felt bad for him that the scripts they gave him were so terrible (other than GoldenEye, which was great). He's in some of the worst Bond films ever, but it's through no fault of his own. Dalton's another one who kind of got screwed over in the same way.

As for me, I feel like Roger Moore is my favorite Bond. I know older fans tend to gush over Connery and younger fans tend to gravitate to Daniel Craig, but I've never really been all that keen on either of them. Part of my taste probably stems from the fact that the first Bond film I probably saw was A View to a Kill (with its awesome Duran Duran intro song!), and his role in Cannonball Run, which were both a bit playful and light-hearted (which is arguably more appealing to kids than a more gruff, serious action guy). So that's my mental image for what sort of person Bond should be (which is probably why I also tend to like Brosnan, because he kind of falls into that same sort of category most of the time).

I can imagine the game playing like the new Hitman 2...

First is the mingle stage where you're at a party or whatever and you have to complete a mission, then you do the mission and go on to the escape stage where you have to perform a great action scene.

Each mission can have multiple objectives, varieties and potential escape plans similar to how in depth the Hitman 2 levels are
