I never got too far in the first game, mostly because I am very bad at it. So I'm gonna just go ahead and try again and probably grow attached to my soldiers and then be heartbroken when I inevitably get them murdered.

I'm gonna stream my efforts too, if that's anything anyone wants to watch. Laughing at my suffering is entirely encouraged.

Hey guys. I am fucking atrocious as X-COM.

It feels like at best everyone has. 61% chance of hitting at best, even when they're standing in front of them. I don't know why the hit rate feels so low, but it hurts. Lol I also had my best unit killed by one of those crystal dudes with a crit shot when he was at full health.

Then I lost a mission in China when a Thin Man spit poison on the limo dude and he died after three turns.

And then... My last mission I played saw three of my guys dying because I'm too bad to remember to reload.

I am bad at this video game and I think I need to restart because China pulled out of the group or whatever too, and I don't think I can get the back.

Stream-wise I also realized I had some electronic buzzing I need to fix in my mic setup. Working on resolving that too.

I think I got the annoying noise issue fixed with my mic finally.

But in any case, is there any advice for this game to get a better chance of hitting? Not being stupid enough to keep letting my ammo run out is something I think I might be able to handle maybe. But that part absolutely kills me sometimes.

I totally beat the game without anyone leaving hte council on normal, but I think it's p much unavoidable on higher difficulties, assuming we're talking about the doom counter thing.

As far as better hitting, I typically like to use the fuck out of grenades hardcore early on since those don't miss and they can ohko the sectoids. The only other thing you can really do is flank them, if you get literally right next to them without cover between you can hit 100% chance to hit. But early on your guys are just gonna suck more at hitting dudes, just how it goes. YOu can get stuff later on that helps.
