Not counting the times you went to field trips to museums that showed educational films on IMAX.

I remember the first movie that they showed at my local IMAX was Beowulf.

The first movie I saw in IMAX however was The Dark Knight.

Aside from all those times going to the fleet science center as a child, I've only seen "Dark Knight" in imax.

For a non-documentary? Fellowship of the Ring is the first one I can recall. The bass rumble on the balrog's roar was something you felt, rather than heard.

Earliest IMAX movie of any kind I can remember is "Fires of Kuwait", although I'm quite certain that wasn't actually my first.

Fantasia 2000. The only other one I can remember off-hand is Avatar, but there may have been others since.

Its like you know me. First one was some educational film... the story of some dude, possibly Jewish I dont remember, that went to Coney Island and shit.

But then many years later I saw Clash Of The Titans in IMAX.

Fantasia 2000. Had to drive all the way from Vista, CA to Irvine to see it. It was actually in OMNIMAX (now called IMAX Dome), which was a curved screen version of IMAX.

I think I saw the first Raimi Spider-man in IMAX. one of the only movies I've seen that way. not sure if any of it was filmed for it though, so it was probably just stretched that big. I have seen a few "field trip" type IMAX films, though that was decades ago.
