Tifa Lockhart!

In a crushing victory, Tifa doubled Pyramid Head's score in the final round 26 - 13, becoming the first Final Fantasy Character and the first female character to win Save That Video Game Character! She joins the ranks of Ezio (Assassin's Creed) and Dante (Devil May Cry) as STVGC champions.

It's all good, Tifa's a really good character in her own right. Honestly I like her better as a winner than Ezio or Dante, I just want that Pyramid Head win some day dammit lol.

Some of my favorites did pretty well (Iroha almost making the top 25 was really unexpected), plus it was nice seeing a rare female winner and seeing memes carry Ramirez to another top 5 finish. All in all, pretty good contest.

@Kajagogo I don't have you or Popcorn's records so idk, but I'm curious, is Pyramid Head the only character in a Save That to make it to multiple Finales without snagging a win?

IIRC one of your series had the same winner back to back right? I'm trying to think what other cases there are of multiple late game losses though.

I know Sabin is in a similar boat to Pyramid Head; Several top 10 finishes and made it to a Finale (STFFC), but hasn't gotten a win either.

Darth Vader made it to two finales but lost both times (Star Wars characters and Movie Villains)

King from Tekken is a 2 time winner (Fighting Game Characters 1 and 2)

Tali'Zorah from Mass Effect came in 2nd of RPG Characters 1 and was a co-winner in Couples.

Those are the only ones I can think of making multiple finales.

Great contest overall

Surprising first boot, If I had time to vote again, Booster wouldn't have been the first boot.

Wish Sindel and Toadette did better. I think they are two underrated characters.

VERY happy with how my boy Scout did though, but I have to wonder, if I wasn't so adamant about getting him to the top 10, that he would have been out 20 rounds sooner, and that would make for a Sad Kaja.

Great contest Waffle, and I can't wait to see what you have in store next.

I was one of the people who nominated Tifa, so I'm happy to see her win. And I strongly prefer he over the 2 previous winners.

I know some people like to shit all over FF7 nowadays, but it was an awesome groundbreaking game back in 97 & I still enjoy replaying it even now. Tifa was always one of my favorite characters in it, even before I'd seen the internet fanart that turned her blocky little polygons into a sex symbol.

As for the other 99, I was pleasantly surprised with how high Elly made it considering how old Xenogears is without all of the remakes, remasters, & re-releases that Square's Final Fantasy games have gotten.

If we do end up doing mascots some time, what about gaming mascots? You could arguably throw in Mario or Sonic that way.

And if you draw the line against them, what about Cortana? Microsoft has embraced her as a sort of mascot, not just for gaming purposes.

Anyway, this one was fun. I really love all of the top 3, so I didn't care too much who won at the end.

As for how my picks did, well, I got Wrex to the top 10 again so yay for that.
