I'm very curious how this will do. It looks pretty bland and I don't think Black Widow can really carry a movie on her own (especially after Endgame).

Call me naive, but I think this year might seriously damage the Marvel brand.

I still think Disney will delay this film for the China money. And yes, I don't think people are excited for this, considering Black Widow has really only been appealing/interesting in two movies (WS and Endgame).

Then you've got Eternals, which is anti-hype to me. The only hope is if Marvel decides to make it the secret beginning to introducing X-Men/Fantastic Four and this fact gets "leaked."

I'm not hyped for a Marvel movie until Black Panther 2, which is still two years away.

I'm hyped for Dr. Strange 2

I think Marvel will suffer either way. Everything leading up to Endgame really felt part of an era, now that that's over, a lot of people will just not be that bothered anymore. The majority of people fell in love with the actors more than with the characters, I think.

itll underperform but its because of the coronavirus more than anything

Eternals will be the real test of whether the Marvel brand still prints money after Endgame offered a natural jumping off point for audiences, and Spider-Man Far From Home served as an epilogue. The Guardians of the Galaxy may have been D-list at best before their movie came out, but the Eternals aren't even on the list. Bearing that in mind, I think Marvel are being quite clever marketing it as a progressive film with their first named openly gay character (no, that extra in Endgame doesn't count, don't @ me) and promising the first on-screen gay kiss. Marvel knows that general audiences have never even heard of these characters and don't care about them because of that (not yet, at least), so they'll need another hook to get invested. We'll see in time if that promised kiss is worth getting excited about or a blink-and-you-missed-it background event (looking at you, Star Wars).

Literally forgot this was coming out.

Shockingly bland. Probably not the movie to start your next phase with.

Unless I'm completely off base, between this and Birds of Prey, both superhero movies and especially female led superhero movies are gonna take a hit, bigger shame for the latter.
