And you think theyre worth it? I like the idea of being to control things from my phone, save money on energy, and being able to have routines where things start or stop depending on if Im going to be home or not.

I have a Nest, and I also have an Amazon Echo in my room, and being able to control the temperature with just my voice kicks ass

However I gotta say even though it's "smart" sometimes it just likes to assume things like "zen wants it to be so fucking hot that he wakes up at 3 am covered in sweat" and you'd think "zen, can't you just go into the settings and stop it from doing that" which. yeah, I totally do that, but give it like a month and it just decides the schedule I put it on wasn't good anymore

A lot of times this is associated with power outages. If your power ever goes out, always make sure to log back into it (which will cause it to refresh) and double check your settings.

I'm like the worst person for building and installing shit and the Nest took me maybe 5 minutes tops

I definitely love having it. I never bought it with money saving in mind, its nice to be able to shout at my Echo or grab my phone in the morning to turn the heat up when it's cold
