The weed isn't the only problem - the other thing he started doing around the same time was his podcasts, and those burned off a LOT of his creative energy that he would have otherwise have been channeling into film. But he definitely fell into the "every idea I have is utterly hilarious while I'm stoned" trap that a lot of stoners fall into, where he'll laugh hysterically at ideas he has that literally no one else finds funny.
