The whole movie is cringe. Covenant and Prometheus are easily the weakest movies of the bunch, imo.

It is like Ridley Scott doesn't know how a religious person acts. Dude hasn't prayed one time.

I think Prometheus is fine, but I like bigger than life kinda stuff. Convenant is mostly cringe. It definitely fits in a horror film slot though when you think about it. Just like the first one, though somehow the first one does it so well.

The people behind Alien Covenant looked at how the Star Wars prequels made the lore worse and thought "We can take a much bigger shit than that!"

The backbursting scene was absolutely hilarious. It's a level of slapstick that puts the Three Stooges to shame, and you're supposed to be taking it completely seriously.

The characters in both prequels are really poorly written but I do like the overall "mythology" stuff even if it is completely unnecessary. Also, Michael Fassbender is fantastic in them.
