The Last Jedi if I'm being honest I'd say that was feeling a bit iffy for me, Boyega says. I didn't necessarily agree with a lot of the choices in that and that's something that spoke to Mark [Hamill] a lot about and we had conversations about it. And it was hard for all of us, because we were separated.

I'd also be pretty disappointed if you could cut 90% of the scenes I'm in and it would ultimately be the same film.

Finn was one of the better aspects of TFA and then they just dicked around with him in TLJ. He was interesting because he had the most character development ahead of him, and then they go and do TLJ. Sad.

Honestly I think if Rose didnt save him and he did sacrifice himself on the salt planet or whatever, it wouldve given him a nice little arc. The guy who wanted to run away in TFA, and ran away (admittedly to find Rey) to start TLJ, running straight at a problem knowing itll be his death, to give the resistance a chance, it wouldve been a little something. Certainly better than what he actually got in the film.

Yeah, he always acts like hes out of breath and yells his lines for some reason. Even when the situation doesnt call for it.

Not to mention wasn't he like second in command on that ship? What kind of dumb fuck military leader says "I have a plan!" and then refuses to tell anyone what the plan is? Then to top it off punishing your second when he asks "sooo hey, what's the plan?"

Finn had great character development in The Last Jedi, that was both necessary and made sense.

Finn should have been the main character. He is a like a good version of the Kylo. Ky was raised in the light with all the advantages in the world. And he went from the light to become evil. Finn was born in to the dark and turned into a slave and he forced himself to fight for he dark when he saw his friend needed him.

In TLJ. They literally had to have a chubby mechanic, beat him into the correct world view. And something that this movie supporters never explain.

Finn tried to live to save Rey. Rose stops him, he is forced into a mission ( that ended up killing so many people). And when he tries to save everyone. She stops him once more and said it is not about killing what we hate. But it is about saving what we love. Finn literally tried to do that before he was zapped .

Literally nothing Finn did had any consequence on the plot whatsoever. If Finn's character never woke up at the beginning of the movie, nothing about the end would change in any even remotely meaningful way.

Basically at the end of The Force Awakens Finn had abandoned The First Order and had learnt to put his friends before himself. What he hadn't learnt or developed was any sense of loyalty or commitment to the resistance. All the stuff with Rose in TLJ is about Finn learning that he needs to think of the bigger picture and commit to the resistance.

Finn has the best arc of all the movies. Couldve even shown him being a clone as a kid and he meets another dude who looks like him.

There is nothing that happen on CB that would have drawn him into the working with the Rebels.
First: Finn already knows about many of the bad things that the FO does. He knowns the bigger picture. He show them take out millions of the people in a second.

Next: CB showed that BOTH sides were working with the these war profiteers. So if anything he would be LESS likely to support them.

Next: This is wasteful writing. He could have gotten out of his coma, saying something such after looking into the eyes of the Kylo I know what I must do. That would build on him making his own choose to fight, get their in a more logical way, and keep him in this movie.

Last: Do you want me to get into the slapstick that they gave him?
