Yea I'm making lots of topics asking about games and its obvious why
but come on, I hope its not too annoying, ya can't blame me for getting some discussion goin! anyways, sometimes Remakes aren't as good does it apply for the following series'? I know I can probably research shit but I'd rather have the opinions of my b8 buddies, and here I can ask details about them instead of reading reviews and shit ya know Lunar 1 VS Lunar PSP Star Ocean 1 (SNES) and 2 (PS1) Vs PSPs Tales of Phantasia SNES vs PS1. All I know is the party doesn't collectively yell YATTA when you win in the PS1 version and that bothers me an unreasonable amount I know the GBA one blows and sucks ass, and not in good ways Tactics Ogre Let us Cling Together SNES Vs PS1 Vs PSP Ogre Battle March of the Black Queen SNES Vs PS1 thats all I can think of at the moment have yall played these? --- ... Star Ocean PSP definitely improved a lot of important things, but I do miss the SNES' graphical style. And while it may be a bad (and unofficial) translation, Silvestoli is a much cooler surname than Silvestri. I'm not that fond of 'Roddick' as a name either, even if Ratix was a pretty stupid alternative.

Star Ocean 2 PSP is more or less the same, other than the new art and voice acting. well, there's a new character, and some minor things like you have a 3 attack basic combo. it probably crashes less too. SO1 PSP is basically a remake using the SO2 psp engine and so is pretty different. there's also a couple new characters, one of which joins after a side quest that wasn't really finished I guess in the snes version (so instead of one character replacing the other, you essentially lose both characters so there's basically no gameplay reason to do it.) Note that they dummied out the harder difficulty levels in the US release for some baffling reason, and the default one is pretty trivial (though I think they are still in the game, if you download a save file).
ToP for PSX uses the ToD engine so it's a small improvement there, and has a new character. I thought the GBA version was basically the same, other than getting dumped upon mostly for having a mediocre localization and some graphics changes/downgrades. ToP is just really archaic to begin with (argh spell pausing). oh wait, I guess there's also ToP Full Voice Edition and ToP X (in Nanakiri Dungeon X) for psp, but I cant comment on them and they don't have translations. I think OB/TO for SNES and PSX are almost the same, except for load times and such obviously. and at least OB has mid battle saves in the psx version, dunno about TO. The PSP TO is apparently massively different in terms of mechanics but I'm not familiar with it. --- The only certain death in the universe is Mother Hitton's Littul Kittons. GBA Tales of Phantasia was fine. It had one major auto-correct issue It changed Ragnarok (which my spell checker accepts just fine) to Kangaroo. Legends of Localization proved it.
It also used Cress instead of Cless and Claus instead of Klarth, but both are valid translations of the original kanji. (and also the Cress and Claus my spell checker likes, but not the other two) (Also, Aeris is a perfectly valid translation, I don't know why they changed that to the more unpleasant sounding Aerith. ) It didn't have the dirty tiger line, but that was added in the fan translation. --- Don't mess with a Bunny! ... Lunar 1 VS Lunar PSP
Neither. Lunar Silver Star Story Complete for PS1. Enjoy that Working Designs localization and the slow as hell gameplay! Star Ocean 1 (SNES) and 2 (PS1) Vs PSPs Didn't play SO1, but 2 is pretty good. Didn't play the remakes. Sorry, that's not helpful. Tales of Phantasia SNES vs PS1. I got nothin, sorry. Tactics Ogre Let us Cling Together SNES Vs PS1 Vs PSP Highly recommend LUCT on the PSP. Cool interface and class-based leveling. It's still unbalanced, but so is Final Fantasy Tactics. Haven't tried to play the psp version of VP yet, but from what I understand it is mostly the same except it's based on the japanese version of the original game (so it lacks some things like the shoulder buttons switching characters in the menu and item sorting as they were added/changed in the localization). and it has some new cgs.
