If you like Zelda games and CotND, youll love. Its basically plays like a Zelda game with CotND mechanics. Its somewhat short, though. I personally dont mind because I want to play through multiple times.

You can look it up. Or get it on the switch. Or for a few bucks on steam(It goes on sale A LOT). But basically, its a rhythm game where you move with the beat of he music. And the enemies do, as well... You can turn it off, though thats one of the main points of the game. But it does change how you play. And can help new players. Because its still a Zelda game, its much easier that CotND. In CotND, you got different. Items and weapons to help you. You still do in this game, but also weapons in the normal Zelda function. And also, there are puzzles. They did play a little during the treehouse that was released on the same day. You could check it out. They play one of the dungeons and explain the game a little... I personally love it, but I love Zelda and Crypt, so... But like I said, you can get the original on steam for like $2 or $3. And it will explain some of the mechanics.

I know you can turn it off. I think you can switch between the two during the game, as well... I havent tried, but I know that its a function.

The rhythm moving/fighting thing is the fundamental premise of the game's gameplay, so I don't think you can turn it off. I believe you do get the ability to move freely once you've killed all the enemies on a screen, though, and there may be an unlockable mode with free movement (one of the unlockable characters in the original Necrodancer game had that option in exchange for some other major disadvantage that I don't remember). If you're interested, I'll second the recommendation that you pick up the original Necrodancer when it's on sale, since it pretty frequently gets very cheap.

that's like the whole point of the game. you have to keep to the beat to kill monsters and stuff. I wasn't sure how much I would enjoy it at first, but it's freaking fun. You can even play co-op.

I haven't played cadence of hyrule though, and have only played cotnd. I assume cadence of hyrule is more of the same, but with zelda ish thrown in

Naw the bard has no disadvantages in necrodancer. Unless you think making the game extremely easy a disadvantage.

Actually now that I think about it he may only be able to get a 3 multiplier instead 4. Really only an issue with obsidian gear, as gold becomes a non issue a level or two.

You can turn it off. I know because not only did they ention it during the treehouse, but people on the boards mentioned doing it. It also moves your score to a different leader board. It basically allows you to move like the Bard from the original...

It more like Zelda with CotND mechanics thrown in. You solve puzzles and collect weapons and stuff like Zelda games, but just move to the beat when monsters are around...

Rupees can easily become a non-issue the longer you live in this game, as well...

Edit: @adjl In the options, you can choose to turn on "Fixed-beat mode". That's what it's called in this game. I think they added is for people who were having trouble... Or who liked the Bard...
