Bought a xiaomi mi mix 2s
It has the newest Snapdragon processor and 6 gigs of RAM so it's an absolute beast of a machine.

My previous phone was only just barely up to the task of running Pokemon Go so this is a significant upgrade.

Currently I have:

Pokemon Go
Hearthstone
MLB At Bat
Twitch

Please recommend fun games (preferably not the kind where I'll have to check in early every 1/2/5/10 minutes) and useful quality of life Apps that will improve my day to day experience. I don't really have much experience customizing my phone. But if I'm going to be getting used to new things I'd like it to be all at once.

How do you feel about gacha games? DanMachi Memoria Freeze is pretty fun and Ive found it to be really free to play friendly. Theres DBZ Dokkan Battle or DB Legends if you want a DBZ game. DB Legends has like Xenoverse-lite style gameplay to it while Dokkan Battle is just pretty easy to play whenever without needing your attention

I don't mind gacha overly much. As long as it's fun I don't care if other people can spend thousands of dollars for an advantage as long as i can (slowly) have access to the same content.

I spend hours a day on the Reddit app on my phone so I recommend that if you're interested in being less productive.

I have been playing Clash of Clans for years, advanced pretty far, and never spent a dime of you like base building/attacking sort of stuff.

Super Mario Run and Fire Emblem Heroes are great if you want Nintendos style and quality in a mobile experience

Bluelight Filter is a must for browsing at night.

Calm, Headspace, 10% Happier, or really any meditation app is great to have. Big catch is that a lot of them require a subscription to make good use of it.

As for games, Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia is good if you want something that doesn't require any stamina for the most part.
