Board 8 > Been watching Dragon Ball Super

I've been told that the retelling of the movies is not good

but unfortunately thats all they have on the Funimation App

and yea, thats the feeling I'm getting

I think I just want to bail

I know its Dragonball, but damn this pacing is bad, especially after getting a taste of the condensed version that came out first

I will admit, I've always liked the "Peace" episodes of Dragonball, where its them just hanging out

and there seems to be alot of that here, but these moments seem to come too far inbetween. Like Gohan giving Piccolo his wedding photos or Vegeta going on vacation

but man, the DATS MAH BULMAA scene was fucking horrible

Vegeta spent a whole solid minute fucking blubbering instead of just jumping in

I enjoyed super but I just skipped the movies. Also I believe the animation quality was so scrutinized during those that it spurred a huge improvement later on in the series. Story-wise, imo it gets better once you get to the new stuff.

honestly Super sucks

but to be fair if you want things condensed, the U6 tournament and FT sagas are pretty well that..... the final saga not so much however

but also the "peace" episodes you're referring to are still a thing, they just happen between arcs (and honestly Super *does* have really good ones)

that mini-arc is post-FT, it's hard to really attribute it to a significantly earlier arc

it's just FT-ToP transition period.... all transition episodes must be watched (including the BoG-to-RoF stuff, because tractor.gif is the best thing to come out of Super period)

It's difficult to stress just how awful the movie adaptations are compared to everything that follows. Like, there's an utterly MASSIVE leap in quality as soon as you get to U6, a decent jump when you get to FT and another big one when you get to ToP. You're honestly doing yourself a disservice by watching the Super adaptations instead of the movies.

Oh Vrv premium has the dubbed episodes, free is only subbed (has all the episodes though)

Tournament of Power stuff hasn't been dubbed yet though.

Yeah the dub is pretty far behind so you'll likely be in for a long wait if you want to stick with that. :(

All people ever do in that show is stand around for hours yelling about they'll do something soon, then a bunch of people take turns effortlessly stomping each other and in the end Goku punches people so hard they become his friends for no adequately explored reason
