For what it's worth, I really liked BTS and the original Life is Strange is an all-time favorite

I hold LiS and BtS in roughly equal regard as my favorite games of all time. I'm hesitant to get too excited for LiS2 though because I'm not sure a new cast could ever impact me the same way. Still, I'd love to be proven wrong!

Just finished playing it

No spoilers but it's definitely really cool. Chris is great and it has me really curious how they'll handle the mechanics in the full game

Length is anywhere from about 20 minutes to about 2.5 hours depending on how much exploring you choose to do

Huh, I generally do lots of exploring so this will probably be longer than I expected it to be! I'm glad to hear it's an intriguing start, too.

Finished it last night. Enjoyed it, and expected nothing less in the emotions department from this universe.

I missed the target practice, and had to search up the code to unlock the cell phone, but otherwise I managed to get everything on the checklist

I share some of Roba's thoughts on the impact of a new cast not being as high. Max and Chloe are both fantastic characters, and I'm not sure it'll feel the same without them, or Arcadia Bay (I have no idea if anything about the setting has been confirmed).

I don't expect it to feel the same, but that's probably alright? Max and Chloe's story works pretty amazingly as a standalone experience, so I don't think I necessarily need a sequel for that aspect of it, but it would be cool to see followup on things like Mark Jefferson being exposed to the public (if David killing him isn't canon) and what is causing things like Max's powers

Chris is a really good character though, so I'm fully okay with having a game about him

I think the only thing that could really justify a direct sequel to the original is if Max finds/tries to find a way to control her powers enough so that she can save both Chloe and Arcadia Bay, and even that would negate the impact and finality of the choice the player has to make at the end of the first, so I don't think I want it.

Otherwise I'd be okay with characters, even Max, from the first showing up in future games, but not as central characters.
