I think I made a topic about the spanish word for Baseball (beisbol) a while back. I think this got me thinking about the the spanish word for Football (Soccer here in America). And it clicked with me, futbol is a loanword.

My mind was blown!

Anyways, the word soccer needs to be eliminated. WTF does soccer actually mean? Why did someone decide to name proper football 'soccer' in U.S.? (and maybe a few other English speaking countries). Gonna look it up now.

Found an article about this as well so I'm reading about it now.

Then I have to find out why American Football is called Football. lol

...because the ball is roughly a foot long? >_> Since we use the imperial system and the rest of the world doesn't, they should change their game to soccer.
