I love PC gaming, but my current laptop can't really play much.

I decided I'm just going to play PS3 again. I have a big library on it anyways thanks to all the sales on the PS Store.

I [really] need a good distraction in my life and video games is it. Once I have enough money I'll buy a good PC.

Since I don't want this being a blogfaqs topic, feel free to make any recommendations. I know I'm going to be buying MGSV: The Phantom Pain for PS3 because there's no way I can beat it now without my PC. And I'm in the mood to play a good stealth game anyways.

Edit: Please recommend any third party PS3 controllers. I don't like third party controllers but since I don't have a PS3 controller anymore, I'll have to buy one and I don't think I'll be able to find a cheap official PS3 controller. I'm still checking online though.

Most 3rd party controllers are ok, they usually just make louder clicky noises when pressing buttons.

Have you played Dues Ex? It's one of my favorite games. It's a good challenge with the option of playing stealth.

IMO there are no good ones, you are going to have to spend some $$ to get a decent controller. I ended up buying an xbox 360>PS3 Controller converter and a 360 Controller

It is but not every game supports it and it has to be plugged in iirc. Some games can't be played with it such as the Metal Gear series because it uses analog face buttons.

I have not. I have a few on PC though. I can play the ones my laptop can run and I can take a look at the Deus Ex games on PS3.

Yeah, DS3s are expensive right now. Even the used ones. A third party one is really cheap but the quality won't be as good. Not sure if I should spend around $40 on a used one or buy a cheap one. I'm leaning towards a third party controller.

And thanks for the suggestions. I think I have both Dragon's Crown and Dragon's Dogma. I probably got them from PS Plus. I have not played Dragon's Dogma but I have played Dragon's Crown a bit (it's the beat 'em up right?).

I'll look into the Suikoden games. I might have a few from a flash sale but haven't played them. lol

Yeah, Dragon's Crown is basically like an old school side scrolling beat 'em up, much like Double Dragon Neon. But it has skill trees reminiscent of Diablo as well and is a pretty fun game w/ a deeper combat system than it first appears to be. You're rewarded heavily for doing a long continuous chain of dungeon runs since the rewards grow significantly as your chain of consecutive dungeons increases, so you can easily get hooked in for a long time.

Suikoden is my favorite RPG series and obscure enough that most have never played it, so I figured I'd recommend it. I'm sure there's plenty of other PS1 gems like Legend of Dragoon on there, too.

I don't use third party, but my youngest brother and nephews do with their own systems (mostly because the nephews break everything). Hated the Afterglow controller my brother has (needed a USB receiver and batteries), but the P3 bootlegs they mostly use aren't terrible all of the time (quality varies between them unfortunately) since they try to be replicas of a regular DualShock3.

If my other brother wasn't finally getting his own PS3, I'd offer my second US PSN account for a few games (just titles from the three Humble PSN bundles I bought for the nephews to use since my accounts are in use by the youngest brother).
