I fixed that for you. Organic is a stupid marketing fad that needs to die. Due to the increase in water used, more harmful pesticides used, and lower production per acre, it's bad for the environment. Due to the higher costs with no benefit, it's bad for consumers.

It's all about what the cattle eat. Mind you, most dairy cattle are fed grain on grain, but there's differences in the feed and some offer different roughage that can have a distinct taste. If the cattle are allowed to graze there are some pungent weeds cows love that give milk an off flavor.

Milk from different brands can taste different because there are different breeds of cattle, regions, and feed. These all affect the taste of the milk. Using organic feed vs. using similar non-organic feed doesn't matter. Additionally, while I totally support not using regular antibiotics on animals, the option to use antibiotics on cattle that are actually sick needs to be available. More regulation of antibiotics is needed and the organic movement has helped increase awareness of this, but organic itself is still more harm than help.

Most blind taste tests result in subjects either not noticing a difference, or preferring the "inorganic" one and presuming it's the "organic" one. It's sometimes noticeable, but acting like that's always the case is just ignorant.

Don't know how often it happens for fetish purposes, but there are donation programs for breast milk to be used therapeutically (most often when the baby's mother is unable to produce enough milk of her own, though it can also be processed into various products). A fair number of maternity hospitals either have a milk banking program of their own going, or they buy the milk from another bank.

half dozen organic eggs: $2 something
dozen of non "organic" eggs that taste literally the exact same because it's a fucking egg: $0.47

Not all tongues are created equal.

Mass producing foods which the masses without taste dont mind because its cheaper also shrinks the pool of good food readily available to people who can taste the difference, making it a premium to buy foods which were once ubiquitous in the area.

People used to get fresh milk every week right from their local farms... then suburbanites ruined all that, and convience won out over taste/quality.

you can literally still do this

it was the USDA that made it so all milk needed to be homogenized, and there's a few ways to do that.

one is faster, but you lose more of the flavor, while the other is slower but retains most of the flavor. i'm sure there's a middle ground there, too, but the faster method will always be the one taken.

that being said, there's more flavor in milk now than there was even just 5 years ago, so they are changing methods.

Pasturized?

And yes, many places have the option of getting fresh milk delivered, but most people dont live in those areas at least not in the U.S.

I am also in agreement that organic vs not doesnt always have an impact on taste. Its the quality and care that goes into the food being used to feed the cows and bow they are treated and how their milk is processed that affects taste the most. You can have a crappy organic mik and a high quality milk made with help of laboratory equipment.

If they were of equal quality though id still spring for organic if I could afford it. Less to do with concerns ovef my health and more to promote sustainable agricultural practices.
