Are there any other big recent games of this type besides Pillars of Eternity?

Those are the only two, unfortunately. I'm going to be playing Tides starting sometime this week, actually. Did you enjoy it?

It doesn't live up to Planescape: Torment, but it does replicate the feel, which is about what you can ask. It has a lot of gameplay flaws, though. The biggest is that you have only three stats and intelligence is used for both intelligence and charisma stuff, making it way better than the other stats.

Oh yikes. I bumped Intelligence and Charisma like crazy in PT, so I guess I know what I'm overloading in this game.

Other recent cRPGS:

Divinity: Original Sin
Divinity: Original Sin 2
Tyranny
The Age of Decadence
Seven: The Days Long Gone
Baldur's Gate: Siege Of Dragonspear
Expeditions: Viking
Shadowrun Returns
Shadowrun: Dragonfall Director's Cut
Shadowrun: Hong Kong
ELEX

And while the Trails in the Sky games are jRPGs, their dense, textured, reactive world scratched the same itch as the original Planescape for me.

Dragonspear was fine if ultimately limited by its scope.

I liked Tides a lot. Not as good as Planescape but it came closer than I expected.

Intelligence is broken but it was broken in Planescape too so whatever.

At least PST had the wisdom to split the mental stat into three stats! Even if it was just using D&D rules for it.

I was going to say, does D:OS not cut it for what you're looking for?

Haven't played it. I'm looking for turn-based/pause-based WRPGs with isometric perspectives and a bunch of wacky companions who join you.

Tyranny and D: OS 2 are the first that come to mind. I hear OS 2 is much improved over the first as well.

Turn-based, check.
Isometric, check.
Wacky companions, check I guess.

I've often said that D:OS is a game that tried to be great and missed the mark thanks to some really tragic design choices. Many of those are gone in the sequel.

Cool, then. It's still 45 dollars, but I'll wait for a sale.
