Board 8 > What IS "Other" storage on iPhones?

I can't get a clear answer on this. My iphone is almost full, and the vast majority of that is listed as "Other". I don't what it is, and I can't figure out online who to take care of it.

Sure, that's what I assume, but it's taking up like 10 GB right now which seems like a lot for cache

Have you saved a lot of messages or voice memos and such? Watched a lot of videos on Safari, stuff like that?

Or you could, you know, just go through the apps that you use most frequently and clear the cache and see if that helps at all before taking such a drastic measure.

you could try the old download a movie bigger than the remaining space on your phone trick

That trick is maybe giving me a little bit of space back but not much.

I notice when I plug my phone into my computer and get onto itunes it shows a different storage availability. There, the Other section isn't nearly as full and I have gigabytes left.
