Not a 97? Unplayable trash game! Though the previews did seem glowing enough to the point I thought it would at least be a little higher than that.

Haven't looked into them too much, but a couple things that are disappointing are that (nothing plot related)Monolith pulled a GameFreak and revealed 99% of the unique Blades pre-release, and seemingly no post-game of any kind. The first is disappointing mostly because they were hyping it up like there'd be a lot more, but nope just the 28 rare Blades they already showed us plus the various story character Blades basically (and also almost half of the possible rare Blade element/weapon combos went unfilled). The latter isn't actually even that disappointing since XC1 didn't have a post-game either, so as long as the game itself is just as meaty, then good enough. But it still would've been nice I guess. At least there's DLC content throughout the year that might prolong it some more.

Oh right the first is also disappointing because too many fucking waifus and barely anything else... Whoever said there was a good mix of male and female Blades was a liar.

I'll give it a rent, switch to keep if it grabs me. The combat is the only thing that's really holding me back, hopefully I end up liking it because I could use a big RPG right now.

I'm glad he talked about the battle system teaching you everything over time

there are some things about Xenoblade 1's battle system I didn't truly understand until I was already trying to take on the 5 optional super bosses

But take note that apparently you can't re-read tutorials beyond the initial prompt. Some players have been pretty frustrated by this, and unable to remember everything and being left confused by the battle system. I imagine it is especially so for people new to the series.

So take screenshots or something. Seems like the kind of thing that could be fixed in a patch.

I played a little X1 and dropped it because I hated the combat.

I've been back and forth one whether to get digital or get the physical collectors edition. Still haven't decided--which tells me nah, just get digital. I wouldn't pay $40 for the artbook and CD. I like the game case but then I'm not sentimental enough, especially for a game I haven't even played yet, to get a nice case.

Looking forward to playing it tonight though!
