This is Ultimecia's best performance by percentage and just one short of her best performance by the raw numbers. Those are also her only two upper half performances ever, though she narrowly missed a third one in her debut. Most of the time, Ultimecia has skirted the boot line if she's been able to avoid getting booted. With this finish, she boosts from 27.30% to 31.77%, passing Serah, Cid P, Bahamut, X-Death, Firion, Irvine, and Paine to land at 92nd place overall.

Ultimecia was one of the rare characters from the Old Era who hadn't appeared enough to qualify for New Era STATS, but that changes now. She debuts at 36.80%, between Paine and Wakka for 76th place. In the Old Era, Ultimecia was at 29.62%, between Meliadoul and Garland for 72nd place.

Opposite actually.....

It worked fantastic at first getting 2 every day. But now I can only get them at the end of rounds. :(

Gunning for Championships (plural, not singular) for the Little Red Mage and knocking lackluster Lumina out of #1 spot.

He could win twice in a row and probably still not pass Lightning if she makes top 5-10 those years too

Seymour's first and second runs in this contest are about as different as it gets. He only had one finish in the upper half and never finished higher than 30th before getting booted with a next to last placement. Since he came back, he's had three top 25 finishes, including a top ten, out of seven appearances and has finished in the upper half every time. With this performance, Seymour increases from 57.02% to 58.35%, but he falls just short of passing Beatrix and stays at 33rd place overall.

When you isolate Seymour's Old and New Era STATS, it's even easier to see the difference. In the New Era, he increases slightly from 71.13% to 71.44%, passing Vincent (for now) for 18th place. In the Old Era, Seymour was at 45.27%, between Ashe and Rufus for 49th place.

Thinking about it...

Seymour Guado is the John Silver or SMFFFC. Poor early showing and got booted. Eventually got back in and has gotten STRONG backing from a very vocal user to get upper midcard placements again and again (with one especially high overall placement thrown in for good measure.)

I do.... the difference between Champion and top 5 should be huge.

Cecil would definitely be #2 instead of Red Mage though

i mean, it is huge in the macro sense

there have only been 17 winners

in the micro stats sense it doesn't (and shouldn't) move the needle much if one character wins and the other finishes 4th every time

If Lightning finished 10th every year, Red Mage would have to win five years in a row to pass her.
