Oh, Rudo should be able to take out all the enemies in just a couple shots, you don't even need the other guys
but you should always have him holding a teleport pipe or whatever those items were because he'll always be the last guy alive and your ticket out of there.

ONLY FIVE CAN LADDER. Sushi, kamikaze, fujiyama, nippon-ichi...
yeah it sounds like you're literally still trying to clear the first dungeon. I was under the impression from your earlier posts that you had made some progress before you gave up.

I'd definitely recommend mapping out the dungeon as you go, yeah. with the first few you can get away with operating on memory alone as long as you don't take long break, but once you reach a certain point you are going to need a map. the dungeons are just too large and confusing.

well I had no idea >_>
the save file says I've spent 7 hours on this game so far
1. put Rudo in the front 2. check the shops for better equipment like a sword for Rolf or maybe a better gun for Rudo (I don't remember if there is one in either of the 2 shops you should have access to). same goes for defensive gear though, there's probably some gear you can buy that you haven't yet. 3. take it slow in the dungeon. advance a little ways into it while mapping the area out, then once you're weakened retreat and recover. when you head back in you can rush through the area you've already mapped out and start working on the next section. there's a lot of dead ends in the Nido tower so when you are wandering around you'll waste a lot of time, but if you take the time to map it out you can rush down the "correct" route once you know it. 4. the goal is to locate the two Dynamite in the tower. don't go looking for a boss or anything, once you have those you are done.

oh and one of the things that makes phantasy star games much less accessible to modern gamers is that you are supposed to be able to tell what the spells do by checking the instruction booklet. just make yourself a reference sheet of what each of the spells do. you can cheat and look them up in a FAQ if you have to since the information SHOULD be readily available to you anyway, and if you have the code there on a piece of paper while you're playing you won't have to think about what the spells do, you'll just know which ones you have and can check what they do with a glance.

Umm you are doing something very wrong if Rudo is weak. Rudo is the only character besides Rolf that should be in your party as soon as you get him and never leave it. Anna and Kain are the other best two characters to have in your party, just make sure that you use all the gires items (I think one is called Amber Rose).
Phantasy Star II, one of the best RPGs ever which shows that you don't need 10000 cut-scenes to make a brilliant story.

Ngamer64: Zylo, you're making less sense every day. SuperNiceDog > Me
see if there's better armor for Rolf or Nei (in the first town ,the one you would have started in) and also make sure Rudo is in front. he'll get attacked more often.

oh yeah I thought of one other thing. buy a bunch of monomates or dimates and have your guys hold onto them for healing in the dungeon. you'll be able to last a lot longer without needing to go back to town to rest.

I don't think maps or mapping is necessary for the dungeons.
For the first half of the game. Oh god just finding the dungeons in the second half of the game was hard enough let alone the pit trap hell. :(
Don't remember it being hard to remember what spell does what, since for the most part characters have set roles. Rolf's the main character, so he gets main character type little bit of everything spells. The doctor gets healing spells, the biologist gets anti-biological monster spells, and the mechanic gets anti-mechanical monster spells. I personally only bothered with healing spells really.
For equipment, you basically have a choice between
1 two handed weapon (sword/gun) dual wielding one handed weapons (knives and claws/boomerangs where applicable-or wait were the boomerangs two handed weapons?) 1 one handed weapon and 1 shield dual wielding shields
If casters have trouble with survivability some people suggest giving them two shields. (though I personally didn't feel it was necessary)
Trying to remember how you get other party members. I wanted to say it was levels, but then again I think it's from going back to Rolf's house after visiting a new town. IDK. been years since I played it.
Also have Shir steal the Visiphone
then
leave her alone <_<
