Up to Chapter 14 now. I'm mostly enjoying it, except for the Quarter Quell. Everything about it seems lazy. It was never mentioned at all in the first book, when it clearly would have been. So not only was it added in weirdly, the rules of it (which I admit does make sense from in-universe perspective) feels like a lazy way to repeat the first book again. I have enough hope that something will happen to shake things up some, like the rebellion, but it's not looking great.

Well I finished and uh, huh. I don't know, I guess the Quell went better than I was expecting, but even though it was much shorter than say, the Games portion in book 1 I still think it went on too long. Post-Quell stuff should have been much expanded, there's a lot to tell in a very short amount of pages. Very weird pacing. Some things should have been foreshadowed better also. I don't know, unless Mockingjay SUCKS this one has to be the worst of the three.

From: GANON1025 | #007 'Hunger Games > Mockingjay > Catching Fire' does seem to be the general opinion from most people who have read it
Actually, there's two groups of people. People that like all three but consider Catching Fire the worst due to its pacing, and people that like the first two but hate Mockingjay with a passion and love talking about how they hate it. Without spoiling it, they basically didn't like the fact that certain events occurred in the book.

The Hunger Games>Mockingjay>Catching Fire Majora's Mask won GotD. Deal with it.
If I were to split Catching Fire in half, with the halfway mark being when they go back to the capitol for the Quell, I might like the second half more. I don't know, there's good and bad stuff sprinkled about the whole thing.

I'm still reading Mockingjay and although I don't like it as much as Catching Fire (I haven't read THG, only watched the film), it's not like it's horrible or something.
From: HeroDelTiempo17 | #011 Really? The people I've talked to who dislike Mockingjay (myself included) dislike...well, the entire book in general. <_<
I only said that because that's what people who hate Mockingjay all agree on. You all probably know what I'm talking about if you read the book.
