hey, nintendo's mario games are still actually good, I'll take them putting out a mario platformer every year if it means they'll stop trying to kill metroid, zelda, and smash, though there is another smash in the works so that's just wishful thinking

seriously, mario and xenoblade are basically the only things nintendo hasn't ****ed up since 2005, why would you be critical of this of all things?

Hopefully that Retro game '' everybody wants us to do '' is a Zelda game.

Well Super Mario Galaxy is my favorite Mario game, and Twilight Princess is my 3rd favorite Zelda behind Ocarina of Time and The Wind Waker. Brawl and Other M are much, much worse, but they're still really good games even if they don't live up to franchise standards.

Other M is my least favorite Metroid, but I prefer it to my least favorite Mario (Super Mario Sunshine) my least favorite Smash (Brawl), my least favorite Zelda (Majora's Mask), and especially my least favorite Mario Kart (Mario Kart Wii - the ONE popular first-party Wii game that deserves to be trashed).

NSMB and NSMBWii both used the exact same world designs. Not to say we know that NSMB2 will do that too.

Still I think the problem people have is that honeslty, NSMBWii didn't add enough variety to the gameplay from NSMB1 except for multiplayer, which IMO was what made the game worth playing. I get the complaints because of the fear that it could end up being really derivative.

Actually, looking at those screenshots I can see generic ice and desert levels, but also what looks like the exact same swamp level design from the last two games.

yeah, it just seems lazy. SMB1 / 2 / 3 / world all had distinct styles... it makes this new game look like a Lost Levels thing.

Still, NSMBWii was a really good Mario game, so if they manage to make it as good as that one and not like NSMBDS, I'll be happy.
