Also, was that the Philly crew? After spending all season talking about them and having them drive "the action", is the second half plot device just as zombified as the first half plot device?

I guess that everyone's already infected and they just zombify after they die (but only recently, because those two guys in the bar didn't) OR it's turning into one of those "when there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth" zombie shows. I suppose the first is more likely. Total game-changer, to say the least

Anyway, this episode was pretty crazy, I loved it. How will the season finale 1-up this?

Not explicitly. When Rick asked about the results of the blood tests the scientist made everyone take, he responded by saying "no surprises." He never said "no infections" or "everyone's clean." Jenner expected everyone in the group to be carriers, and they were.
