Never used TikTok, even though some friends tried to get me into it. Doesn't mean I support the government telling private companies how to operate.

This won't matter at all.

1) Trump literally tried to ban it already and has a full history of railing against it - for anyone that actually cares about that kind of thing.

2) None of the people voting for Trump care about that, because they'll vote for him and support him no matter what.

Did you miss part of my post? Cuz, like, Trump literally wanted to ban TikTok while he was in office. If you're a rational human being, there's no way this should make you vote for Trump - especially given the other issues on the table.

This is my fucking problem with how the US manufactured bills. I need to get a bridge in Omaha repaired but in so doing I also have to okay children not getting school lunches.

Maybe this is inefficient but I detest how the bundles of problems get sorted into one bill. I wish it could just be single issues and then President goes nutso mode signing or veto the bill.

Bill for bridge is proposed, bill gets signed.
Bill for banning lunches is proposed, bill gets vetoed.

They are called Christmas Tree bills, and basically the new norm of getting bills passed. Most of this has to due to GOP-lead obstruction. Simple yes or no's on single-issue bills will die to GOP opposition (or never see the light of day if the House is controlled by the GOP). But they stand a chance of passing if they can be bundled with pet-project stuff like this.

It's trash, but likely won't go away until GOP actually has very little seats.

Pretty fucking wild to ban an entire social media platform. It's no secret how bad the data mining is, but it's also no different than any other social media company.

Another point that the democrat party is just the Republican party of the before-Trump times.
