Much quicker and cheaper to fly. From what I've heard about UK train stations, I could arrive at an airport in NY, make it through TSA, get on the plane, take off, fly to Edinburgh, land and arrive at my destination faster than the potential train delays /s --- The name is wackyteen for a reason. Yes but the last time I was on a train was in the 90's. I was in the Navy and we had pulled into Naples Italy. We had been there before so I decided I wanted to get on a train and ride for a few hours to my favorite city in the world and go to Rome. So that is what I did. I have done that a couple times we pulled into Naples.

NJ Transit is a common public transportation method in Jersey, has buses and trains. I've taken trains to get to college at Newark Penn and to head to Manhattan at New York Penn. Have ridden the MTA plenty of times. Very affordable, much more than something like Amtrak. Still waiting on Brightline's service from Tampa to Orlando.

My train ticket wasn't expensive and you just walk onto your train with your stuff. They aren't 3D scanning you and harassing you like the TSA.
