Do you have to parallel park? Not everybody's test has it. Is it on a special course or on regular roads?

Mine did not. Thank god. I suck at it. I'll park at a garage to avoid attempting it. I hit my business partners truck once at the store. Just a tap, really.

If it makes you feel any better, I passed my driving test on the first try despite botching parallel parking severely.

While I was trying to park, the car hopped the curb and I tried to salvage it. The proctor literally said, and this is a direct quote, "What are you doing!? Stop!"

But I still passed, because parallel parking was only worth 10 points. I scored an 80 and only needed a 70.

Just hope I got it foreal.

Dont worry if you fail, you can just try again. Theyll give licenses to literally anybody. Just think about all the dummies you see driving like maniacs. Somehow those people passed. Anyone can.

Also, make sure you come to a complete stop when approaching a stop sign. They gave one of my sisters a failing grade because she didn't.

And if you're in a place with bike lanes, be sure to pull into the bike lane prior to any right turn you make. My cousin instantly failed for forgetting to do that because he "put lives in danger"

A written test is usually the one that trips people up more than actually driving. The driving is the easy part. Virtually every teenage kid passes it. Its cake. You could GTA style or Mario Kart it and probably easily pass it. Look at how many awful drivers there are.

Have you never had a license or did you just let it lapse? Arent you like 40? Have you just been walking to work your whole life or do you live where public transportation is viable to get around? This raises so many questions to me.

The way youre saying its so easy to pass the practical makes me more scared for noob drivers running into the bus Im on or something I always think about dying in a crash at least once when Im on the bus ride to college and Im just accepting and making peace with my overly thinking ways thats never happened to me.

You dont have to worry about much being on a bus even if a car slams into you. That car will crumple and the bus will be fine. Stay calm my man, itll all be good.

I was so bad at my parallel parking attempt that the instructor just gave up on it. I barely passed.

Remember that a yellow light means slow down so you can stop for the incoming red light. It does not mean speed up to try and make it before the red.

I wouldve passed on my first try but I did that on the very last turn and the lady failed me. lol To this day I have no idea why I did that. I think I was going a tiny bit too fast to come to a smooth stop and my brain just panicked.

Got it on my second try tho. (:

My test guy didn't know the rules for stop signs. Where I live the order of where to stop is

1. Stop line
2. Crosswalk if no stop line
3. Sidewalk if no Crosswalk
4. Edge of intersection if no sidewalk

He said I passed, but I need to work on my stop signs. According to him, if there's no stop line you need to stop at the sign. Didn't even try to argue it since I already passed and knew I was right.

Just got back but kinda mad. I had to re schedule for the 30th. Because I didn't watch that impact video. Totally didn't realize I had to watch it until they mentioned it to me.

This is the first time I'm hearing of that kind of requirement. >_>

...I feel like driving in the bike lane puts more lives in danger.

- ALWAYS check and adjust your mirrors before turning on the ignition.
- check your brake lights (Even the top one, they check for those and WILL send you back to get it fixed... You'll have to wait in line all over again, though)
- Watch those stops and crosswalks
- Keep those hands at 10 and 2
- If you see a Protected Yellow left turn with no oncoming traffic - take it. They will fail you if you hesitate with traffic BEHIND you waiting to make their turn.
- Make sure your windshields are clean. Or clean-ish...

Some people will blindly turn over the lane. Then a biker would Tbone into the car. You are supposed to check the lane before switching to it. I foresee a few problems with this. Some bikers are speed demons and feel entitled. So not really paying attention will send them into the back of the car and maybe into the back windshield.

Annoying but gives me time to practice. And perfect my skills.

I failed my first test, but got it the second time. I feel like it really depends on the attitude of the instructor you get.

Honestly it does. My first one was a stern lady but on my second try I had a nice lady and passed.
