The coolest thing, oddly enough, was picking up eclipse sunglasses from my grocery store of all places, to watch the sun directly. You could see the moon moving across the sun, almost in real-time. And I kid you not, I saw what looked like flares coming off of the sun, itself! I don't even have 20/20 vision, normally. Coolest thing I've seen in I don't know how long...best dollar I've ever spent, I'll tell you that much! I don't think I'll ever forget seeing that... My wife says we'll get another eclipse this October. But someone at my post office said it's not for another 40 years! Plus, it won't be a total eclipse--the moon will be farther from the Earth and won't cover the entire sun.
