Cloudy here. But "fortunately" the sun will be at about 50% max obscuration here and no real change in lighting.

Here's a website that's showing real-time data on the eclipse:

We're getting about 95% eclipsed here, but without eclipse glasses I won't actually be able to look at it, so it'll just be a matter of getting pretty dark at ~4:30 (currently 3:45).

it didn't get fully dark here, but it was very dim for a bit. it was pretty and eerie in a weird way. honestly wouldn't mind if things just looked like that normally. i kind of weirdly miss it now.

tried taking pictures but they were mostly blurry and shitty. kind of an easy image to remember though so no big deal.

Yeah, getting a decent photo with my phone was tough. The best ones I got were actually after the clouds rolled in and I could just take them without the filter.

That was about how it went here. The lighting just felt... quiet, if that makes sense. It wasn't dark, but everything was just dimmed in a really subdued way. Shadows got really wonky, too, looking like they were being cast by multiple light sources instead of a single point. The rainbows coming in from the crystals hanging in my windows were also visibly curved for a bit.

Cloudy all day so I couldnt even see it (stupid New York weather, it was perfect all weekend and of course TODAY of all days it decides to be cloudy).

However I was directly in the path so it was kind of cool to see it suddenly go completely dark, and even crazier to see nature losing its mind around me (robins were already out before totality, frogs were immediately out during totality and a large amount of deer were out and about on the ride home).

I slept through it, but it wasn't gonna be "complete" here anyway I guess? But there was one here several years ago that I got to experience. It really was just an eerie dimness. Something about that kind of light without the typical colors you'd get from a sunset or the shadows you'd get from cloud cover

Drove over 3 and half hours to an area in the path of totality that wasn't obscured by clouds. It was worth it. Incredible to witness.

Yeah, the light level lined up with what I'd expect from sunset or a cloudy day, but paired with a bright blue sky and no clouds, it just felt off.

I don't live in an area that was in the path of totality. But the sunlight in our area changed enough to almost feel like a sunset.

The coolest thing, oddly enough, was picking up eclipse sunglasses from my grocery store of all places, to watch the sun directly. You could see the moon moving across the sun, almost in real-time. And I kid you not, I saw what looked like flares coming off of the sun, itself! I don't even have 20/20 vision, normally. Coolest thing I've seen in I don't know how long...best dollar I've ever spent, I'll tell you that much!

I don't think I'll ever forget seeing that...

My wife says we'll get another eclipse this October. But someone at my post office said it's not for another 40 years! So...which is it?

There's an eclipse in October, but you'll need to be at the southern tip of South America to see it at its full effect. Plus, it won't be a total eclipse--the moon will be farther from the Earth and won't cover the entire sun.

The next total eclipses (in North America) are in 2044 and 2045:
