Currently AMD is CPU leader but that may not last. Intel is slow but not stupid.

Whoever has the better deal when it's time for a new computer.

Voted AMD since, of the 3 computers I've owned for myself, 2 have been AMD.

far better price to performance with amd, which is usually better performance than intel these days except at the highest end, and even then it's only for specific tasks and not necessarily anything the average person is going to experience

I don't think I've had an AMD chip since the K6-III, but I have nothing against AMD. It's just that I tend to build machines based on the motherboard, not the CPU, and the last several motherboards have been Intel-based.

I went with AMD for a long time because I think it has the better price-performance ratio. I have a Ryzen CPU now, and my previous two computers had FX CPU. I will say I think they run extra hot compared to intel & nvidia.

This. It also depends which performance bracket you're targeting and who's winning in that bracket at a given moment. Right now, I believe it breaks down that AMD's best for cheaper machines, Intel's better for mid-range, and then it's back to AMD for upper-end stuff (mostly for their X3D chips, which are particularly good at single-thread performance), but that flips around every generation.

I mean an intel brand motherboard

my now ancient PC currently has this: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/55744/intel-desktop-board-dz68db/specifications.html

(nothing amazing, main thing was that it supported RAID 10 (and was affordable))
