pinky0926 03/26/24 10:45:56 AM #6:	I saw a video that tested the "build a PC for the same price as a PS5 but better" theory out and what you end up with is something that is about as good as a PS5 in pure performance, but physically twice as large, much louder and not well optimised. The cheaper part is in the games and (lack of) subscription costs. Yeah, turns out there's a reason why a lot of people prefer consoles. In fact there's a lot of these comparisons. Because any time (on any PC building forum) i've said "This is my budget, what do you think about this build" the majority of responses are variations of "you should wait 3 months for X part to come out" or "swap Y part out for Z part, it's $100 more but so much more worth it". I think enthusiasts in general (in any hobby) can have a pretty skewed perception about what is a reasonable amount of money/time/effort to spend. Which is maybe why some gamers have a hard time understanding why there are people who prefer console gaming or who don't see the value in spending hundreds of dollars more for a difference in fidelity/experience that could be considered marginal. I hate this one the most. Unless part of your function is CAD engineering or videography, the PC that you need for functionality may as well be something that was budget 10 years ago.
