I was bullied for liking DBZ

I graduated high school in the early 00s, and while stuff like the first two Blade movies and Spider-Man were out, I can't really remember anyone really talking about them.

the only movie related things I can remember were a friend of mine lending me Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and another friend, who worked at the movie theater, taking me to see Final Destination.

edit: oh yea, a friend also let me borrow Battle Royale so I could copy it (my brother was a fan from the book).

The things people usually say they were bullied for were always instantly popular here. Anime, comics, games, movies or whatever, didnt matter.

People in my high school like the Spiderman movies. I remember in math class, some dude randomly popped in and said "I saw Spiderman 3 and it sucked. Sorry guys" and just left lol

I don't remember anyone getting bullied for liking Marvel or DC movies at my school. Although only phase one of the MCU existed by the time I graduated.

I mean its probably local. Nerd culture stuff wasnt part of why people got bullied in The Netherlands, everyone grew up on videogames, superheroes and anime. Bullies didnt really need an excuse, they were just that.

I was never bullied in school for liking anything.

I got "bullied" in 4th grade by a group of kids who thought I was lame because I didn't like the WWF. This was before WWE was a thing.

Anime and runescape was super popular in my middleschool

League of legends, marvel movies, anime, and bodybuilding (because of Zyzz) was popular in my highschool

I think the only marvel movie that existed before I graduated highschool was the first xmen movie. Nobody really talked about marvel movies at my school. I graduated in 2001

So, basically before the original X-Men and Raimi's Spider-Man made superheroes popular again after Batman & Robin and Steel made them into laughingstocks (yes, there was also Blade before X-Men and Spider-Man, but keep in mind that back in '98, most folks, even the ones who were huge fans of the movie, didn't even know he was a comic book character)? People can legally post here, vote, join the military, and drink who weren't even alive when those movies came out.

When I was in Primary (middle school)/High school between 1979 - 1990 the only things made by Marvel that was released was The Incredible Hulk tv series, Spider-Man cartoon, Spider-Man And His Amazing Friends, Spider-Woman cartoon and a Hulk cartoon.

During my time in school Superman II - IV, Supergirl and Batman were the only movies released.

Never bullied for liking them.

No one was bullied for this lol. Nerd culture was booming even then. Most people who claim this dont realize they were actually bullied for poor hygiene, smelling like a mix between a deli sandwich, mothballs, and musk.

this! All through high school I had Star Wars magnets in my locker, read the books, etc. now they post pictures of their families in matching Star Wars outfits at Disneyland and shit.

I did not get bullied for watching captain America 1990, no.

I was hype as hell to see X-2.

I remember a kid getting bullied because they liked Michael Jackson and would dance when I was in 5th grade. They would do a move and the bullies would beat him up saying stop dancing. I was so oblivious looking back at how kid acted it wasn't MJ. It was likely because the kid was gay/trans.

I lost contact with the student since they transferred out the school due to the bullying. So don't know if it was one or the other but they were definitely a part of LGBT community. I just didn't have LGBT awareness when I was that young. It was going to school and passing those classes. I guess it was for those bullies.

And the fucked up thing is the teacher saw the kid get beat up and sided with the bullies that they shouldn't be dancing. Student should remain seated while class is in session.

Really? I thought that DBZ was always an OK thing to like. It was Pokemon that would draw the ridicule and bullies from my own experience.

I got bullied by the headbangers in middle school for being a thrasher (skateboarder).
