I failed my checkride, I think I have 70-ish hours of Cessna 172 time and maybe 10% of that is solo. My Wife (who is essentially my accountant, and I wouldn't have it any other way), basically said I have to get a new job that pays substantially more before she signs off on letting me go back and finish the training and getting my full pilot's license. Part of me wants to finish what I started, and the other part of me wonders how logical it is to have a new, super expensive hobby without much a prospect of making money doing it.

My wifes grandfather owns a Cessna 172. He flew commercial for 30 years. When he found out I couldnt fly for the Air Force due to my corrected eyesight he took me on several trips across the country. God those were memorable trips. He told me when he passes he wants me to have it to get my private license.
