*BB/BCS SPOILERS*

Like, most of the storyline is an ongoing revenge plot between Gus and the cartel, and Walt's just some guy who popped up at the tail end of it and managed to fuck it up for everybody >_>

My main issue with BCS is how much screen time is given to Gus and the cartel despite us learning literally everything we needed to know about Gus already in Breaking Bad. To me it really felt like he's mainly there for the audience to go "OMG remember Gus!?" Might feel differently if I felt he got more, interesting development, but he and most of the cartel felt very static, essentially obstacles and catalysts for Saul's life, but for such static figures they get a ton of screen time relatively.

I feel like we got enough of Gus. He had character development but it's subtle.

He feels quite a bit less confident and more anxious and fearful in BCS, which makes sense due to Lalo's presence. Then he kills Lalo and basically feels more like how he did in BB.

Yeah, kinda does. Speaking of Walt and BCS, I love the scene of him and Jimmy in the basement of the vacuum store. We see Walt from a different perspective and see him as just an asshole. In BB, even if you recognized how horrible he was, you were still along on the ride with him and still kind of rooted for him. Or at least I was that way.

BCS wasn't perfect with how they did Gus and the cartel story, but it was fine overall.

It was all to explain this one scene:

It was mostly other people who did the groundwork though. Walt's like that guy who kill steals in an FPS game.

Yeah, that scene made Walt a complete dick lol. I love how we get to experience Walt and Jesse from the perspective of Jimmy and how he's basically just a more violent Chuck.

The stuff with Mike and the cartel was much better than anything in Breaking Bad.

Am the only one who was kinda disappointed with Lalo?

All that hype and amazing acting just to go "Lalo didn't tell anyone he was alive for some reason and then Gus shot him lol the end"

That would be like if Rocky IV ended with Drago dying during training because he tripped and landed on a teapot while Rocky was still running up and down mountains talking to himself.

I like how the series further established how much of a damaged, tragic character Gus was -

even after his victory over Lalo, he couldn't allow himself even a little happiness with the wine guy, and it was straight back to business/revenge plotting mode.

And only for Walt to deny Gus the satisfaction of killing Hector in the end.

I think at that point, Gus had already done as bad as he could to Hector, and that he "won" in the conflict between them; it's just that he didn't get to enjoy it for long
