Startup costs maybe, you can get something on par with the Series X/PS5 for under 1k these days since theres always sales on either individual components or prebuilts. But you dont need to upgrade them unless youre dead set on having the absolute peak performance at all times. I got my PC as a prebuilt in 2020 for $1200. The only thing Ive done since then is upgrade from 16 to 32GB RAM.
