It was full of republican shit, whatever but it actually addressed border security unlike every prior bill which was just funding for a wall that does jack shit.

A majority of illegal shit comes in through legal ports of entry. Due to a high volume of shit coming in through those ports, we can't stop and check every single container that comes through and that's where nearly all illicit drugs like fentanyl come in from, not to mention the massive amounts of human trafficking at various ports.

This bill would have helped stop this shit and piece of shit Republicans knew that stopping the problem would eliminate a talking point.

The bill had tons of good shit that every American would want.

The really sad thing is that Republicans could have easily passed the bill and then spent the rest of the election season bragging about how they had solved the problem. You know, like a normal government should function.

But they're not interested in governing. They're only interested in oppressing. And hate works better for that.

They didn't want to make Biden look good.

That's how Republicans work, if a Dem tries to help the country, they'll do anything they can to eliminate it, even if it's something they themselves constantly talk about that needs to be done.

That's the beauty of it. Republicans know they don't have to do anything. Their idiot base will vote for them no matter what and they don't have to do anything. Just say things like "The Dems are destroying this country with this or that" and that's all that needs to be said.

No further action is necessary, and they don't have to actually do anything.

It was an absolute win for them. The Democrats shouldn't have proposed it in the first place (conceding COLOSSAL ground to the right for nothing), but given that they did, they should have taken it off the table the second Trump told the GOP to tank it. Instead, Biden took time out of his fucking State of the Union speech to grovel before Trump and beg him to pass it. Zero spine.

That's not what he did. After talking about how it would have helped the country he berated Trump for playing politics and not serving the American people. Saying instead of trying to use it as an election issue he should join him in supporting it for the greater good.

Yes, that's what I said. The correct play would be taking the bill off the table immediately and then slamming Trump and the GOP for having no principles or beliefs that they won't even vote for their own border policy, not pleading for Trump (who Biden has repeatedly called a danger to democracy) to work with him to pass it. This border bill is one of the most cartoonishly authoritarian bills I have ever seen in my life and it never should have been introduced, but that's the correct play with the hand Biden had.

He was asking him to stop getting in the way of it/the issue. That's as far as I saw in the cooperation he asked for.

He knows Trump well and has been caught on a hot mic insulting him, so I don't think he'd actually want his help on passing it, just stop being in the way.

The bill's already done. Literally the only thing Trump could provide is to stop being an obstacle.

No, what biden did was masterclass politics. The entire blame of the border shifted to Republicans. You take advantage of that.

Biden, for someone they call sleepy or half in the grave is still showing a masterclass of politics.

For sure. Not only did they do it at the behest of Donnie, but when you have members of Congress literally admitting they aren't voting for it because it will give Biden/democrats a win is fucking ridiculous.

Correct, and a lot of it is staying here to replenish/rebuild our weapons and shit we have sent to Ukraine. Like I said, it's a misrepresentation to say that we are sending 60b to Ukraine.

You're still ignoring why that funding and border security are tied together and why the bill that initially had bipartisan support was then killed.
