It almost assuredly would. If street drugs were legalized and regulated, much of the things that make them unsafe would simply go away.

They wouldn't go away entirely, since there will almost certainly always be a black market that offers cheaper products by skirting regulations, but offering a safe, legal alternative with a well-documented supply chain can be be consumed in supervised consumption sites instead of alone in a back alley would indeed go a long way to helping save lives and reduce addiction problems.

Oregon just decriminalized simple possession. That's notably different from legalizing and regulating drugs.

Sure, some modicum of a black market would still exist, but it would be dramatically reduced and significantly less dangerous.

Oregon reduced the level of criminality for drug possession, but didn't actually do anything else. If drugs were purchasable from safe locations and produced under regulations that would reduce the amount of contaminants and such, along with proper rehab and assistance, deaths would plummet. All Oregon did though was say "Hey, you get a ticket for this now instead of being arrested."

I guess it's been almost a decade since The Night Before. For some reason I was thinking their comedy movies were more recent. The Interview was 2014 and This Is the End was 2013.

the last stoner movie i can think of was jay and silent bob 2

and it was not memorable except in how bad it was

i think seths movies do and did a lot better than kevins did though

Edibles don't smell at all, and I guess I'm not motivated while working Monday through Friday, jogging 30+ miles a week, helping my daughter with homework, and being in a stable marriage.

When you were in school, how many fingers were you taught that people have? Probably 10.

I guess that schools are just glamorizing dumb generalizations because they aren't focusing on fringe cases where some people are born with more or less than 10 and some people lose fingers throughout their lives for the sake of being able to make a cohesive lesson plan that will teach kids facts that they can count on in more than 99% of situations.

Some people's baseline level of motivation is naturally going to be higher than others, but the fact is that dopamine production is directly linked to your brains ability to feel motivation and regularly consuming the idiot making plant known as Marijuana reduces said dopamine production.

Funny how pot smokers tend to be ultra liberal hippie dippies; the same type of genius who will say "trust the science" in some cases while ignoring the science in cases that say unflattering things about them and their beleifs. Maybe it's all the bong resin clogging up their brains.

I don't think the above person has ever known a pot smoker. It's like they formed all their opinions from watching Half Baked.

I used to be a pot smoker, thanks. Probably the dumbest thing I've ever done.

My husband was also a long time pot smoker and kept going long after I stopped. And oh my how he thrived after he cut that shit out.

We were what you call regular users and no, I don't feel superior to anyone. I was a regular pot user myself, so I understand the appeal of that addiction and how easy it is to fall into it when everyone is telling you it's OK. I just made better choices. A person's potential and willingness to reach it is directly tied to their motivation and I just want more people to realize that potential.

But I guess maybe putting words into my mouth makes you feel superior. That or maybe someone's brain is just too addled from regular pot use to realize that's what your doing ;)
It's cool. I've been there.

It is bonkers to me the lengths people will go to to justify their addictions. Whether it be caffeine, pot, or heroin, the behavior is always the same.

Its a constant assurance that "No, I don't experience the well documented effects of the regular use of this drug, and neither do most people! If I admitted that I did, then I would have to admit I have a problem, which is the first step in overcoming addiction, and I am just not willing to do that!"

Having gone through it myself, I can only cringe at the fact that I used to be like that.
