Im just trying to say that making the minority analogy actually objectively different than other humans and often capable of accidental destruction has always made me uncomfortable. Because minorities and marginalized groups are just people like anyone else, they might just look different or be attracted to different people than I am.

Because those other heroes, even ones born with their powers, are anomalies. Mutants however are the next step in evolution (not how it works but go with it) and regular homo sapiens fears that because they bigoted and uninformed, kind of like certain people fearing migration because they know their own history. The comparison is good enough.

I haven't read anything since Avengers vs Xmen which happened in 2012. But I think a story arc just ended where mutants had literally their own nation. So no, I don't think they work for the US or any human government.

In 2019 the x men established the nation of Krakoa a living island that is a save haven for mutants, and then terraformed mars into a mutant haven as well, calling it arrako. However krakoas about to go by by because you guessed it the government has been working with AI villains to genocide the mutants again.

The fascist white replacement theory relies on the contradictory statements of the enemy is weak and strong. They are inherently inferior while simultaneously a huge threat. The bigotry seen in the X-men is only using half, stoping short of showing the contradiction. As an anti-discrimination analogy, it could be better.

This is a moot point when the X-Men exist in the Marvel Universe, where many government agents and law enforcement have super powers too.

I mean, the whole central conflict between the X-Men and The Avengers is that despite both groups having incredibly powerful metahumans capable of blinking people out of existence, only one of these groups gets hated on.

Just to point out, nothing in xmen 97 is new. They are adapting plots from the late 90s in the comics. It's basically stories that would have been in the old show if it got 1 more season back in the day. The show is still set in the 90s for that reason

No, the "weak " aspect of white replacement theory is about raw numbers, in that the minority is a smaller population. And that is also analogous to the mutants who are a vast minority to the number of non mutants on earth. There was an estimated population given at some point but its like a percentile of the human populace.

So no, it still works.

True. Most mutants have useless powers or ones just a tiny bit usefully. The comics only focus on the cool powers so it's what we see. But it's not representative of the vast mutant population

Proof? It's pretty well established that the vast majority of mutants in the X-Men world do NOT have noteworthy dangerous or powerful abilities, and those that do specifically get sought after by the X-Men and Brotherhood, specifically due to said abilities.

Plus, in the Marvel Earth people get crazy powers all the time and are celebrated for it. Fantastic 4 went to space and came back able to knock over buildings, burn their surroundings, infiltrate places undetected, and stretch(ok, so that one's not terribly threatening on the surface level). They're considered heroes. Spider-Man get bit by a spider, and became super powerful. He's a hero, and people look down on JJJ for treating him differently.

But if for example you're just a random person who inherited a specific gene, or otherwise known as being born different, then you're hated. Their whole world looks down on them and treats them poorly just for how they were born. Sure, one night be to blow you up with a glance, but so could Johnny Storm.
