That is how much I gave him. Someone is staying at our house and needed a ride. He offered to drive them instead of me. I gave him 35 for gas + another 20 to take that burden off me.

How long does he have to wait for the person to handle their business?

That is more than my job pays for gas.

but he has gps and I do not because I look at mapquest and write the directions down when I could just get a gps. they are just going there to pick up some clothes and other personal items.

Personally no, that isn't worth my time. It's not even worth double that.

That just barely covers mileage.

I know cabbies inflate prices but a local cab ride here for a two hour round trip would be in the $300 or so range. But even buddy prices should be a couple hundred.

Why are you paying him to take someone who was staying with you somewhere? Especially if he volunteered?

Anyway it's enough for a tank of gas. Shouldn't take a full tank to drive 2 hours.

does not sound like enough. Gas is like 3.50 a gallon..... 3 there, 3 back.. so 6 times 3.50.
so 21 dollars JUST in gas.

Never gone somewhere for work?
Anyways, mileage is the actual miles driven on your car which is much higher than gas ($0.67 per mile past your normal commute.)
It's higher than your fuel consumption because it accounts for wear and tear on the vehicle.

This isn't a job someone's doing. If they offered they probably weren't necessarily expecting much to begin with.

Wouldve gone $70

20 bucks gives me like 3 quarters of a tank on what I'm currently driving. I drive a hour to work and I just put 20 in like every other day
