My entire party does lol. Occasional healing spell i forgot the name of it

I get excited whenever a pawn says they'll cast the same spell with me ("ill combine my magic with yours" iirc)

Also is the stat/levelling system same as the first game? Where what class you are when you level up determines the stat ups?

How do you synchronize and upload pawn data this time? You used to have to rest at the inn in the first game to do it.

Rest at all. Could be camp or inn. Not sure if there are any other ways to rest.

Tbh it's not bad so far. Almost 2 hours in.

Looks like just like in the first game, staying at an inn is how you get results from having your pawn rented.

I've just stumbled on a quest which apparently lets you eventually buy a house, and I guess then you can stay there for free and do the pawn rental check?

i'm encumbered very often. i guess the obvious solution is stop picking everything up, but the first game had you using literally anything and everything as upgrade materials and quest items. even random shit like a letter or badge of some kind could end up an upgrade mat

Just give it to your pawns to carry, just like in the first game. And yeah I'm literally collecting everything and depositing it in the inn because you never know if you'll need 20 blast arrows or 30 rotten eggs to upgrade a late-game codpiece lol.

Haven't tried any other classes than thief but I'm enjoying it, it seems to do good damage and is good for climbing on big enemies. Interested in the special classes like warfarer and spearhand though, but haven't gotten to the point where I can get them.

Finally got started tonight. Had a freeze outside the initial encampment, which blew, but life went on. Really feel like Ill get sucked in like with the first. Already loving my pawn.

I think buying the special edition, or whatever its called, was a mistake with these trinkets. Thats on me, I guess.

the two handed warrior class. really bulky, great knockdown power, and really good perks to keep if you switch classes later

I switched to trying to use Mouse and Keyboard with Archer now. That controller aiming is just too awful. Changed a lot of the keybinds to make the M + K better.

stack materials in every deposit box you hit, don't bother with status cure potions unless you hit a really hard enemy, have a warrior or two to load up with your combinables and process em' as much as you can.

there are little beetles you feed your MC or pawn to increase their carry weight. game is pretty generous with them.

I can't get those to work on the pawn.

played a bit more.

im liking the quick spell core skill.

seems like we can't move now while charging up the basic magic attack. :(

in the first game you could charge it while running and jumping.

Thank you! It makes sense they'd keep the tail cutting in, background on my circumstance:
Started as Thief, switched to Archer to help that elf guy met in Vermund...Glyndwyr or something?
My main pawn was also Archer (but it won't really be relevant...)
Hired a Mage and Fighter, helped the spoilers
Started heading back to the capital
Fighter got BRINE'd while we were fighting a Cyclops
Cyclops got BRINE'd...taking Main Pawn with him
Mage aggro's three saurians and I'm here without a dodge, half my party dead, no tail cutting ability...
I made it back to the capital and switched back to Thief immediately lol

Lol, I can bet they're a bit rougher if you lack anybody to cut tails.

What vocation is your pawn? Mine is just about to max out Thief after a couple more mob battles (already maxed out Archer) and I was debating Fighter or Sorcerer next. Meanwhile my character is on the last stage of Warrior after already maxing out Fighter.

She's a level 5 Mage right now. Haven't played as much as I wanted because of work and other commitments.

No prob, I'm gonna unlock Warferer before the end of the day which allows you to use any class, weapon, and skill so it's about to change party dynamics like crazy.

Also slight spoilers for that, but if you get a hold of Fruit Wine, duplicate it 3 times at Checkpoint Rest Town to make that a lot easier.

I'm basically playing at 1080p too but I set my screen res to 4k and set dlss to performance mode option + 50% sharpening in the nvcp. Looks pretty sharp to me and better than just setting native 1080p.
I do notice some weird graphical effects sometimes though but not too bothersome

I'm still cpu bottlenecked hard af tho but I can't really complain with a 6 year old cpu lol

Probably runs but I cant imagine you'll get more than 30fps even in the less demanding areas. The game is really vram hungry and the minimum requirement is 8gb so I would try to see if someone has posted gameplay on youtube with 6gb cards and see how its faring.

I'm playing on a Ryzen 5 7600X and a 3070 Ti. I'm doing fairly well so far. This game seems to be smacking CPUs really hard. And yeah, the VRAM requirements are insane. I'm able to run 1440p on high across the board with DLSS Quality upscaling.

I looked up some info and apparently sorcerer spells are weak af compared to the 1st game . No holy light enchant either. Omfg

I would definitely recommend mouse and keyboard for Archer. Since I switched my ability has taken off greatly. I am sniping stuff all over the place. It has gotten to be very fun.

Still playing with thief...tried spearhand but it just kind of annoyed me that there's no dodge or block button, so if an enemy starts stunlocking you with one hit, you get beat up and die. At least thief can dodge.

Ran into a couple of dragons randomly...had to nope out of there.

Bought the house in Lag Soren and you do get pawn rental checks when you sleep there, but not many people are renting my pawn...

I found one hell of a cave that I would have surely died in had my pawn not had Fire Boon. Stupid slimes take all of my stamina, but are so weak to fire.

so uh, just hit my first hard crash and couldn't get back into the game with the inn or last save option.

I had to delete the built shaders and allow the game to rebuild them to be able to load the saves again >_> if anyone else runs into this bullshit.

I really miss having two sets of weapons.

Oh so it still possible to kill a golem as a mage/sorc. Just have to spam frigor. Took maybe like 20-30 mins (cuz other pawns wouldn't use that spell ) and it turned nighttime so got attacked by skeletons too

Strider/Ranger bow combat in DD1 was the best bow combat ever, and I miss it, but the thief's ensnare lasso is pretty good against flying enemies, just spam it until you yank them out of the air. You can even trip big enemies like ogres and cyclops if you time it right.

Found Oskar being attacked, went to help him out, and one last harpy killed him. I didn't have any wakestones so I picked up his body and took it all the way back to the checkpoint town which took forever and we had to kill a bunch of enemies along the way, then got a wakestone from my saved items at the inn, and it brought him back to life. He wouldn't follow me back to the cenotaph area, but he disappeared and then reappeared down by the cenotaph building, and then I was able to help him and finish that mission. So the result was kind of glitchy but it's great that the game gives you so much freedom. Really wondering what is in that locked door on the way to the cenotaph though, my pawns kept blabbering about how the door could be opened from the other side, but I couldn't figure out how to climb over there or otherwise get there.

On pc I've put everything pretty low to get a better framerate, and DLSS to performance, and it runs pretty well now in the open world, but still pretty bad in the cities. I have a pretty old cpu and hopefully if I upgraded it I'd get a better framerate...

I tested out that prescient flare spell. Ok it is pretty strong against larger enemies/bosses when targeted on the head. I guess sorc is still OP .

There is an upgrade for it too but im still 2 ranks away from it

Ok, that's rude. Die while traveling? Ok. Just load save. Turns out that your max health decreases every time you do this until you rest. I had to leave a cave I was spelunking because of this. Rude ass cave has a chimera and a phasm? Wight? Lich? Dunno. Some undead ass floaty magic user thing.

Dumb ass rented pawn keeps falling off bridges (just walk straight across it my dude), and I accidentally nuked the bridge after that while in combat and the game autosaved the nanosecond I did that

I'm in the middle of nowhere too so I'll have to trek all the way back here eventually since my camp was destroyed when I got ambushed when trying to pass time for the bridge to regenerate. But at least I accomplished my secondary task of wandering around until my main pawn leveled up her current vocation
