Especially since Milwaukee is heavily Democratic - keeping the bar open during the RNC may earn you extra money from the sheer volume of people, but you'd piss off the locals which may hurt you more in the long term.

So keeping the bar closed over the few days that the RNC is in town may be the smart play here.

Yeah when it comes to making someone do something art wise they are against I don't think they should be forced. And anyways if they are that much of a bigot I don't wannt give em my money anyways.

Now if you work for a corporation I feel you should do it if policy says you gotta. And I'm sure most corporations aren't gonna want their employees turning away customers.

But I've know tattoo artists to turn down doing a tattoo for various reasons.

But that said an establishment has a right to refuse business. My grandmother did it all the time if the customer cussed. She'd give em one chance to cut it out though but she would tell them to walk outside come back in and try again. Also had a boss kick a guy out of the store refused hi. Service all cause he got rude with the cashier.

EDIT: Just as an example off the top of my head, there are devout Christians that think the teachings of Jesus Christ himself are "woke nonsense". The stuff like helping those in need, loving thy neighbour etc. The most basic "do good, don't do bad" messages are political to the wrong people.

Yeah I get you. During covid I wore a mask to work that simply said correctional officer inside of a black and gray American flag. And I was told I couldn't wear it because it was political I was like wtf it's my job title. And I got told at another unit a dude with a BLM mask ended up causing a ruckus and that the BLM people say anything relating to law enforcement as the opposite side of the politicalness of it.

Everything is politics anyway. Congress is literally talking about passing college sports shit to deal with the NIL stuff

I'm not even sure why that poster gave that as a response seeing as how political affiliations is not a protected group. I'd say they were using it to discount another, however their actual text is talking about being anti-furry as not falling under that, which political affiliations also do not fall under so that would be an irrelevant example to make.

I'm going to try to summarize this as simply as possible for you and other people claiming not to understand:

If the bar closed down because it thought more black people than usual would be present during a time period, that is similar in that it is legal. It is not similar in that it would be trying to keep away people for a neutral, intrinsic quality as opposed to people who are deeply committed to a dangerous hate group. Therefore your hypothetical is "scummy" but the action the bar is actually taking is not.
