It depends on your definition. Mentally, I am way better than I was 4 years ago. Physically, I'm slowly getting back there, but I went through 2 stints of Cancer in those 4 years. Thankfully been Cancer free for about a year after 3 months of Chemo.

Absolutely not. Four years ago was back when my depression and self-harm issues were maybe at their worst. I've made a lot of progress since then and never want to go back there.

Health wise I was much better off back then but pretty much everything else that comes to mind I'm in a better place now.

Much better off, my dad hadn't had any strokes, my job was still going strong, and we didn't have terrible inflation.

I think a lot of people have their own personal reasons for maybe saying yes, such as death of loved ones, however in general when Stefanik and right-wingers shoving this bring it up, they seem oblivious to the fact that 4 years ago, March 2020, was when the pandemic started to pick up and things were locked down, a reflection of Trump and his intentional mishandling of COVID, who wanted to open everything back up after initial reporting showed it was killing black people the most.

This is another stupid Reagan trope that I wish we'd phase out of political discussion.

I lost so much money during the pandemic. I normally made around 40-45k a year, that year I made like 15k or some shit. It was insane. And I didn't qualify for unemployment because Rick Scott/Desantis brutalized unemployment.

I was truly fortunate I paid off my car Feb of 2020 or I may have defaulted.

Damn that's ass. Yeah the one boon from pandemic retail work was my job gave me an extra $2/hr. and was handing out hours like crazy. Nice to have a bit of extra money. Not sure the wondering if today is the day I'm going to get sick and die part was worth it.

No, I was much worse off 4 years ago in just about every way.

My job was basically giving everyone 15~ hours a week and that was just enough to push me over the unemployment threshhold, since Scott/DeSantis think making $250 a week was enough to live on.

Well I'm living in Japan now yes. Except I was still with my ex girlfriend 4 years ago so no in that regards.

When the pandemic hit I thought it would be a good chance for people to put aside their differences and unite as we were all in this together. I even believed Slug Virus would try and do everything in his power to crush covid to make himself look great in hopes.of winning reelection. Granted I also underestimated how long it would take society to reopen completely. But ignoring the false silver lining I saw coming from the pandemic, I had more disposable income (not even including the stimulus)and more hope about my life because I was younger. These days I don't have that and in some ways society reopening increased my depression as I had no way to do the activities that I wanted to. The only real positive I've gained since then has been the birth of my nephew but I only see him about 6 times a year and only for a long duration in August.

But none of those reasons have anything to do with who's in charge and if Slug Virus wins in November I got to start making exit strategies in case he tries to get death camps going.

Im a bit biased. Sitting here in the hospital right now where my 5 year old just came out surgery and watched a soda can worth of fluid get drained from his lung.

Nope. Just got laid off from a shit job with shitty toxic management that treated me with contempt despite being a ideal employee. Hope all of those fucks get karma for their bullshit. Doing way better now making twice as much as I used to with employers that care about me as a human being and give me flexibility and freedom in my work schedule and the job isn't physically demanding at all. Life is finally on the up for me after over a decade of bullshit.

Much, much better off. Even with the start of Covid, the economy hadn't completely gone off the rails yet, and my job was doing better.
