Honestly wouldn't bother me that much. Other than checking out some sports scores via ESPN I mostly only use a little youtube and kill time here on gamefaqs. I mostly have the Internet to download games and patches.

I could easily live without it. I grew up without it and was well into my 20's before getting it.

Too inconvenient. And it'll only get worse as time goes on as the internet becomes even more ingrained into everyday life. They're putting washing machines and refrigerators online today, but who knows what's next. One day you might have to log into an account to start your car, then what.

Yeah, it would be a serious problem on many levels to never be able to use the internet again.

Just some things that spring to mind:

Most jobs that pay well require you to use the internet.
Applying for a visa that allows me to stay in the country I live in is almost impossible without the internet.
My main means of transport isnt possible without the internet.
For me, banking would be all but impossible without the internet.
Ordering food would get much harder without the internet.
Booking flights becomes much harder without the internet.
No TV without the internet.
Vastly inferior gaming options.
Cant use kindle or audible.

It sounds like a nightmare.

Id have reservations even for significantly more money.

It just doesnt fit in my lifestyle much. I dont need it for work. I work at a power plant. I spend all my spare time at home. I read physical books and never use electronic devices for reading nor will I. I listen to my physical music. I game (this would be the biggest issue going forward). I dont stream stuff as I still have actual cable tv and prefer it. I vastly prefer my physical movies as a home theatre junkie for the superior video and audio over the compressed streaming options.

I physically do all of my own grocery shopping (dont order online) and I cook every meal from home and never order out or eat out anywhere. My life is pretty self contained. I dont even own a cell phone. Never have.

I have nothing against the Internet. I like it. Its convenient. But I dont use it much or need it. By growing up without it I just dont depend on it and unlike other people its not integrated in my life to a degree that I have to have it. It wouldnt be hard for me to completely eliminate it. Outside of gaming it virtually wouldnt impact me.

So 1 million, lose my career, have to spend time and money training for a completely different career.

Just no deal, I'll make more keeping the Internet. A million isn't exactly a lot of money in the grand scheme of things, it's not like I could retire on that.

1) things have changed a ton in 70 years, don't act like that's not the case. Both in life and with jobs.

2) a surprising number of things require the internet in some way. Now if the rules of this allows others to use the internet for you and you just can't do it directly then that would alleviate some issues but still be a pain.

3) this is not the 50s. I did not grow up in the 50s. If I did and had no experience with computers then I would be a different person and so would be fine with it. Going back to the 50s now would suck, in lots of ways, including the lack of tech that's a big part of my life.

4) there's nothing wrong with tech being a big part of your life

You might not even able to withdraw your money since the teller still must use the internet to access your account.
If it's allowed, then we can cheat the restrictions by hiring someone who will do everything for us.

Not to mention $1 million means nothing to people nowadays because it will take 10 years to run out of money. Of course, you will need $10m or even $100m to make people willing to give up internet for life. Most people probably will reject flat out on your proposal after all people need internet for various reasons.

All of my entertainment comes from the internet. Can't even buy PC games without it. Bills, banking, medical information all internet. Currently if my internet goes out for a few minutes I feel like having a panic attack.

I'd have to think of how I'd restructure my life and if it would be worth the money. I lived without it until around 18. I honestly don't remember how I got random information before that. Home entertainment was cable, physical games, CDs, DVDs. All that shit's being phased out so I dunno.

My bank only deals with online service in my area. Not to mention, if I get lost or are in an emergency, I can't use internet to contact others? If someone close gets married or something, I'll ask them to please provide physical photos that I can access? I can't indirectly access the net by asking others to get things for me? What about selling my house or vehicle? Only via paper ads? The internet is no longer like a tool, it's practically integrated into our everyday lives. This is like saying "1 million but you can't use any transport besides walking ever again." Transport is so ingrained into life that it's not worth such an inconvenient hassle.
